The Eicher Pro 3018 is a 12.2-tonne payload truck that falls under the 17.75-tonne GVW (gross vehicle weight) range. It is available in two wheelbase options – 4490 mm and 5490 mm – to transport LPG cylinders, industrial goods, auto ancillary, white goods (large electronic devices like refrigerators), and FMCG. 

Thanks to its 20 percent gradeability, this truck can easily transport cargo in hilly regions. It is fuelled by a BS6-compliant next-gen E494 diesel engine. The vehicle is integrated with a fuel-efficient EATS (exhaust after-treatment system) to reduce emissions. Eicher emphasises its industry’s first 7-speed gearbox that helps to deliver more torque leading to better load-carrying capacity. 

The Pro 3018 is an ICV (intermediate commercial vehicle) which features cruise control to maintain speed, M Booster Plus to drive in different modes of load and gradient, and smart fuel coaching to guide the driver for the right gear-speed engagement. Its ex-showroom price is between Rs 28.50 lakh and Rs 31.20 lakh, making it an economical solution for intercity haulage operations. 

Eicher Pro 3018 Performance

Equipped with a 3.8-litre E494 4-cylinder 4-valve diesel engine, the Eicher Pro 3018 truck produces 160 hp (120 kW) at 2600 rpm and 500 Nm at 1200-1800 rpm. Its engine pairs with an ET 60 S7 7-speed gearbox for efficient power transmission through a 362 mm diameter clutch. 

The Pro 3018 truck model features rear semi-elliptical laminated leaves with a helper spring and a front shock absorber with parabolic suspension for providing smooth and stable cargo mobility. It has an air brake with an auto slack adjustment to slow down the vehicle and APDA (air processing and distribution assembly) to separate and dry oil, regenerate, regulate air, and distribute compressed air.

The Pro 3018 diesel truck is available in three variants – L20, L22, and L24 – with 6112 mm, 6782 mm, and 7364 mm long load bodies respectively. All variants have a similar cargo body width of 2338 mm (7.7-feet). It is constructed on a strong Domex chassis to carry 12.2-tonne payloads with its 17,750 kg GVW. 

Furthermore, its L20 variant has a wheelbase of 4490 mm while its L22 and L24 variants have a 5490 mm wheelbase for decent freight movement. The Pro 3018 model can handle congested city lanes easily with a 17.8 m TCD (turning circle diameter) in the L20 variant, and a 21.6 m TCD in the L22 and L24 variants. 

The fuel tank capacity of this intermediate commercial truck is 190 litres and its fuel tank is made of anti-corrosive high-density polymer to dispense fuel efficiently. Additionally, it has a 27-litre AdBlue tank to reduce harmful emissions. The vehicle gets 295/90 R20 tyres with 295 mm width of tyre cross-section, a 90 aspect ratio of the sidewall height to the cross-section width, and 20 inches diameter of wheel which is suited for highway operations.

The Pro 3018 diesel truck is designed with a 2.1 m wide cockpit with mechanically suspended seats to cushion road vibrations. It is fitted with butterfly windows which are independently hinged on a vertical axis to ensure cooling. Further, the vehicle has anti-roll bars to offer stability while taking turns.

To make a long business trip more comfortable, this ICV truck comes with dead and heel pedals to enable operators to rest their left foot. Its tilt and telescopic steering facilitate driver convenience and fatigue-free cargo transportation.
